It depends on the product. I like to find brands whose entire line is safe, and for this reason Burt’s Bees is not among my favorites. You have to become a skilled label-reader to know which products are clean, and which contain questionable ingredients, such as phenoxyethanol, retinyl palmitate, and limonene. Many Baby Bee products contain concerning chemicals, and the ingredients are not organic. On the other hand, I happen to love Burt’s Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub, which reminds me of the St. Ive’s apricot version I used in high school (that one contains lots of gross stuff, obvi), but has no concerning ingredients. Bottom line: If you know your chemicals, read the labels on Burt’s Bees products and pick the good stuff. Otherwise, opt for the brands that make only safe products.
