Sierra Sage is one of the oldest herbal salve companies in America, founded in 1971. It was owned for 10 years by James Green, author of The Herbal Medicine Makers Handbook, after which it was purchased by herbalist, midwife, and farmer Nan Kohler and her daughter Amber Rae.
After living and working with Nan and Amber on the family farm for five years, Jen Scott purchased Sierra Sage in 2007 and is the current owner and operator. She makes organic salves and skincare at home, which is in Boise, ID.
Jen is an herbalist, gardner, a naturalist teacher, as well as a certified doula and professional midwife. Jen graduated from the Blue Otter School of Herbal Studies and attended the Herb PharmInternship program in Williams, OR. Jen has been studying and growing herbs for more than ten years.
At Sierra Sage, each recipe is carefully designed using the wisdom of traditional herbal medicine to create healing salves, baby and momma care, plus an awesome line of Southern Butters (use these in place of toxic K-Y Jelly!).
