Overview

Turn any crib mattress into a breathable mattress with Naturepedic’s Breathable Crib Mattress Cover. This layer combines breathability and waterproofing for a safer, healthier and more hygienic design. The cover features a soft, GOTS certified organic cotton face and a 3-dimensional polyester lattice structure that creates a breathable space under your baby for increased airflow. This results in improved temperature regulation for less sweaty backs and a reduced risk of overheating. It also allows the baby to breathe directly through the breathable cover if necessary. Additionally, the cover features a waterproof backing that protects the mattress from urine, spit-up and other messes, making bedding changes easy. Get all the safety and comfort benefits of a breathable mattress with the convenience and practicality of a removable and washable layer.

Breathability done right

Breathable crib mattresses are all about added comfort and safety. Simply put, babies tend to cry more when they're uncomfortable. Airflow under the baby allows heat to dissipate more efficiently, helping regulate temperature for less sweaty backs. According to airflow tests, breathability may also increase safety by allowing air to flow more freely around the baby.

How it works

The breathable cover features a soft organic cotton face and a 3-dimensional polyester lattice structure that allows air to flow through the fabric and under the baby for 360° air circulation. Since air is able to pass freely through the cover’s 3D structure, babies can breathe right through it!

Practical design

The breathable function is encapsulated in a washable cover that completely hugs the mattress. This removable layer has a waterproof backing that keeps the mattress clean and protected from urine, spit-up, and other messes. In the event of an accident, simply replace with a spare cover or put the baby back to sleep on the fully functional underlying mattress. The cover can then be machine washed and dried at your convenience.

So what is your baby actually breathing for 10-14 hours a day?

A breathable crib mattress isn’t safer if it means your baby will be breathing chemical flame retardants – or mold, mildew and other microbial growth. Sadly, many other breathable crib mattresses on the market are more susceptible to these concerns. Naturepedic crib mattress design is GOTS certified organic, breathable and waterproof for your baby’s health, safety and hygiene.
