Unlike nylon, polypropylene, or Olefin carpet, Earth Weave carpets are made without:

Earth Weave carpets are made of 100% pure virgin wool from Europe. The backing is made of natural hemp and cotton, bound to the yarn with all-natural rubber. The secondary backing is made of jute. Earth Weave's carpets are the only ones we've found that emit zero VOCs and are safe for those with chemical sensitivities.
Earth Weave makes all of its own Bio-floor carpet in the USA. Also available as area rugs and with rug grippers.
Please note: Because natural fiber carpets vary in texture and color, slight variances are normal and do not constitute a manufacturing defect.
How to Install Natural Carpet
Step 1: Find an installer
Find a competent installer with experience in wool carpeting who has access to low/no VOC seaming tape and adhesives. Find an installer here.
Step 2: Measure your space
Measure the length and width of your room in feet and multiply to get total square footage. Add 10% for wastage/overage.
Step 3: Order carpet
Enter the square footage you calculated in the Quantity box above. You will receive it within two weeks. We also recommend this eco-friendly padding — it makes the carpet softer underfoot, reduces noise, and prolongs its life.
Step 4: Installation
This wall-to-wall carpet can be installed two ways:

Direct glue-down (without carpet padding). Discuss with your installer.

Tackless technique (no glue, with underpad) — our preferred method. Tackless strips are nailed around the perimeter, the carpet is hooked and stretched tight, and seams are joined with adhesive seaming tape.
Maintenance & Cleaning
NOTE: All wool carpets shed. Shedding is most common in the first few months after installation.
- Vacuum with a suction-only vacuum cleaner. Beater-bar vacuums may damage the surface pile.
- Use only wool-approved cleaners for stains. Do not vigorously rub. If stain persists, contact a professional cleaner.
- Shampoo professionally once or twice a year.
- Clip any loose tufts — do not pull.
